Good morning, I write to you on behalf of Oldham Council and IMBA-UK (International Mountain Bike Association-UK) with regards to the opening of the new green grade family mountain bike route and pump track at Crompton Moor near Shaw, Oldham.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&biw=1024&bih=677&q=crompton+moor+oldham&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Crompton+Moor&gl=uk&ei=WuCyTIOEJZWSjAfj2KhZ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBcQ8gEwAA

The 1km family route and pump track have been funded by the national lottery and form part of Oldhams Adventures in play project which aims to provide facilities to help children and young people enjoy outdoor spaces. The pump track has been designed and built in co-operation with North West Riders (NWR) mountain bike club and IMBA-UK.
Please follow the links below to view photo albums of the trail build:

We are contacting local and national cycling businesses to invite them to attend the event, there is space for around twenty stalls on site where you can promote your goods and services.
Local bike shops have already pledged a number of demo bikes for the public to try out on the trail whilst a training company will be delivering guided rides around the route.

The event will take place on Sunday 24th October from 11am until 4pm, with the official opening ceremony at 1.00pm where local rider and Hope sponsored downhill racer Tom Braithwaite will be cutting the ribbon.

There will be a best trick / lap competition on the pump and jump track at 2.00pm which is open to the public, registration from 12pm.

If you would like to attend the event or can provide any kind of promotional material or giveaways, especially as prizes for the pump track competition please contact us via email: try-cycles@hotmail.co.uk or by telephone: 07508038643.

If you can respond promptly to this I can ensure you are mentioned on our promotional materials, feel free to send me a digital version of your company logo to put on the flyers and posters.

regards

This jump spot is an unoficial development built up over the last ten years or so by various local riders, the trails are fun to ride with different lines and sizes of jump to try out. Please remember if you ride here (or anywhere else for that matter) to take your litter home and not to build any new lines or features. Uppermill quarry is actually clasified as a nature reserve and an area of scientific / biological special interest, the local riders have an informal arrangement with the loal countryside service to keep the riding area tidy and contained within a set boundary. Please help us to keep this area by adhering to the points above and IMBAs rules of the trail. Working with the authorities on sites like tis can help to create future purpose built mtb trails in the Oldham and Saddleworth area.
