Chew res is well worth the ride, fantastic views and a mega fast decent to the carpark. Check out www.mountainfeet.co.uk and have a look at Simons triple grooler challenge for the ultimate in chew res pain!
North West Riders and my company (Try-Cycles) have been talking to the ranger service and Peak Park about the creation of some new routes in this area and the possibilty of a change of status on some trails to allow access for mtbs. There are going to be some big changes in the Dovestones area over the next five years with the forestry work that United Utilities are planning to carry out, however this could work out well for mountain bikers as new trails potentially be incorporated in the re-planting regime. Keep your eyes on www.northwestriders.net for more information, we will also be forwarding progress on this project along with the proposed mtb development at Crompton Moor to Aaron to put on this site in the near future.

Please note that there ARE restrictions to where you can ride at Dovestones, the only legal trails you can ride are the main path around the bottom res, the trail to the left of the two other reservoirs and the access road up the valley to Chew res.
